Melina Padayachy is the founder of Next Curve Global. She is also the author of the Innovator’s Method: Bringing New Ideas To Markets. The Innovator's Method is a model that identifies patterns in how innovators find, develop, commercialise and scale their ideas. Thus, Melina aims to bring more predictability in the innovation process. She is also interested in how new technologies create ground breaking products, services and business models. In the past eight years, Melina has worked for a Strategy Consultancy, delivering strategic advice to blue chip companies. She also holds an MSc in Innovation Management and Technology Policy from the University of London.
Dr Hugh O'Malley PhD, MBA
Hugh has over 10 years’ experience in the Healthcare sector where his focus has been in the Biotech, Pharma and Digital Health industries. With experience across the healthcare industry, Hugh has worked for top tier blue chip companies such as GE and Becton Dickinson and also in the start-up space. His experience ranges from managing multi million dollar medical device businesses to managing innovation and idea generation pipelines. Hugh holds a BSc in Polymer Chemistry, a PhD in Materials Science from Kingston University and an MBA from Alliance Manchester Business School. He has published papers in the field of nanotechnology and holds patents in molecular diagnostics.
Steve is AI startup 'force multiplier' who shapes serendipity to connect and illuminate the dots that matter aka 'The Merchant of Light'. He specializes in under appreciated startups leveraging relationship capital and personal branding. Deliverable include business strategy, product market fit, pitch and funding, business development for smart tactical execution. Steve is an active speaker at AI events. Neil has over 30 years’ experience of working in large professional services organisations in a variety of different roles and in a number of different countries; for the last 20 years he has operated at partner level. He is also a qualified chartered accountant. Equally comfortable in dealing with both strategic and day-to-day risks and issues, his strength is in operational delivery with a focus on gross margin improvements, process efficiency, risk management and mitigation and effective project management. He has a hands-on management style, yet is comfortable in delegating to those who have demonstrated their ability to perform. He has a track record of building and developing high performing teams based on skills, competence and desire to produce high quality deliverables. His teams work in an environment of continuous improvement and one in which constructive challenge is valued and encouraged.
Emma Ulker is a consultant healthcare analyst, covering everything from pharma down to micro cap medtech and biotech companies. She has broad experience of analysing companies including assessing the impact of M&A and fund raising and other corporate activity. Previously in equity sales at SocGen broking to European fund managers, she trained as a linguist and is an MA qualified translator of Spanish and French. She learned the role of healthcare analyst through on the job training at Edison Investment Research.
